2) Make sure its possible within the limits of the tools available. That is; The skin will fit an existing MODEL. The model is the skeleton or character shape. Its just not possible yet to expect a realistic south park skin - they don't fit the shape. Thats why all Manons look the same.
3) Don't expect a reply straight away, or ever. Sometimes your ideas just aren't interesting enough for skinners to bother with.
4) Try not to ask for something custom. You're more likely to gain the interest of a skinner if the skin can be used by more than just you and your clan.
5) Be polite. I've seen people practically demand skins. Its not gonna happen if you do.

2. What if the person is new to skinning, and they don't know all the basics yet?
3. So what you are saying is, some skinners, like yourself, don't want to deal with n00b skinners, because they bother you?

Good Post, Wolf-Man.

I learned how to skin a while ago, and am generally happy to make skins for people, but alot of the stuff you outlined is very valid, especially the having pictures as references part.

Remember people, Skinners dn't get paid, they make skins for people out of the kindness of their hearts, so show them a bit of patience and courtesy angel:

I don't really understand why people have to be so meticulous about all of these little details when requesting a skin. I mean, the only person who will ever see it is you, since it's not oging to be on the server, and no one else is going to have it. On top of that, admins are kicking people who don't use stock skins now, so what's the point?

oh and i have a # 6, tho i never ask 4 pics on my skins, tho i dont do much on request my 6 is say thank u for gods sake, u dont know how much some ppl out here (zoner magnum guarnere Hobbs Minefield Dr.Deleto just to name a few) work so hard every day for two letters: ty and then u guys blow em off, tell em it sux, or fix this, and hurry! i dont got forever! First off, I meant the only other person who will see it while playing, not on a site.

Second, hardly anyone puts skins on a server. If it's not on there, no one else will see it.

Finally, most of the best servers kick people with custom skins to avoid neons and such. I'm not leaving because they try to ensure someone isn't cheating.

well umm ya, ill calm down, and feticidal, no one is gonna c it huh? who cares where they c it, they still c it, and i dont care were u play, but i play wherever there is room, no lag, and a map i dont loath. i dont think im the only one with these specifications
