Performance problems even with great setup

I dunno whats up with my computer having some performance issues with this game. I can run everything maxed out at 800x600 res, but when I change it to 1024x768 my computer chuggs. This should not be happening, heres my setup.

Dell Optiplex
P4 1.4Ghz
256MB RAM
40Gig HD
An overclocked Visiontek XTASY 6564 Geforce3 Ti200 Card
And a T3 ethernet connection

Could someone please help me out here

Are you talking about the SP demo now?

yea, Ive been having those problems on the SP demo.

Unfortunately, this is happening to a lot of people and as far as I know there is no explaination for it.

The single player is quite a bit older than the multiplayer, however. So there are bound to be various code tweakings that didn't make the cut. It almost seems like the developers spent too much time optimizing the game to run good on lower end computers and none on higher end. Amazingly enough, I run the game at 1024x768 with max settings on a 450mhz GeForce3 TI 200 system just fine.

I'd recommend buying the full version from a place that accepts returns if you are concerned about it.

actually its working ok now. It just had problems at the very beginning of the level when you get the the smoking 88, the frame rate just slowed down there, after that point it ran ok.
