How can I change my vid card drivers? I got detonatorXP now and the spdemo runs very bad! How can I delete those drivers so that I can install Detonator3. I heard you can't install your old over your new drivers...

If you have installed approved XP detonators (23.11) for example then you can uninstall with add/remove programs. At least you can on my XP Pro system.

Basically, if you used an official .exe download to install the drivers then add/remove will work. If you used a .zip download and installed manually then add/remove will not be an option.

Depending on your operating system, for other drivers you can go to:
display properties > setting > advanced > adaptor then change the adaptor manually to be a standard VGA PCI graphics adapter.

The readme contained in the .zip for older and/or beta detonators explains how to do this for various operating systems.

Also guru3d.com (before it closed) used to have a download for a utility called 'Detonator Destroyer' that removes detonators from a variety of OS's. Have a look round the Net for an up-to-date version of this utility.

Cheers.

or if you had detonator 3 drivers previously you can use the roll back driver function in the device manager, that's what I'll use if new drivers are a bit on the funky side.

maybe that's the reason why the SP drivers are crappy. you have to remove your old drivers to install the new ones. If you don't uninstall the old drivers, you're going to find alot of conflicts between the 2 drivers.

I got the detonator destroyer, but after I used it and restarted my computer I got a message that there's a conflict with the drivers and I have to install the drivers that came with the card again.

There's a readme in the zip that explains how to use (DD) and delete drivers. It's a fairly simple process.
