Ok, I have on phone line, and a dial up connection, but I do connect at 48-49! :) Anyways the point is, when somebody calls it knocks me off. Thursday I plan to join a checkers tourny on the net, and I wasnt some way to stop me from beingn knocked off so I want mess it up. How can I do this, besides getting another phone line, and no, I do not believe I can get anything high speed other than Satillite in my area, which thats to high. Thanks!

I think there is some program you can download that lets you block incoming calls from kicking you off. Check http://www.download.com and search there.

i know some dial ups have a setting that will let you know theres an incomming call but wont knock you off the computer. itll even take a message for you. so yes it is possible.

Yeah there are programs a friend of mine has a program everytime you call her it comes with a msg and once you record it, she can hear it off the net.
Or you could call all your friends and threaten to beat their asses if they call you.

It's likely to be "Call Waiting" that does this. There is a code that you can input into your dialup settings that will prevent this from happening.

Call your ISP tech service to get info on this and where to intut it.
