Rise of Nations -

Anyone know if this game is supposed to be anything like blitzkrieg?

Looks pretty cool.
I think its more of a Civilization: Call to Power type game than Warcraft, which is good for me since I'd rater play that tye of game. Considering they have many guys on the team that did Civ 2 and Alpha Centari.

Yeah I think so, its a mix between Turn based Strategy like Civ 3 and other games like warcraft.

In this game you can choose what time period you wish to play, OR play the entire time which spand 6000 years.
There are a whole bunch of different ages like Industrialization age, Enlightenment, Ancient, modern and you can choose to play from Industrial to modern, or whatever you want, or you can play the entire full length.

I'm guessing it works similar to Empire Earth, but loads better. I think it looks real good too. Tanks taking on chariots sounds fun.

Man, I hated Empire Earth with a passion. The units looked like they were made out of paper. This looks good, but I'll stick with Blitzkrieg for now.

Theres an auto upgrade for all units so you can't have chariots taking on tanks. And the entire world advances at pretty much the same rate, so you can't fall too far behind the rest of the pack and they can't fall behind you.

Oh, I didn't know that.
I too hated Empire Earth, it wasn't a good RTS at all.

It was just so ugly... Like the German WW1 Campaign, one guy would be walking around with a huge machine gun in his hand... ughh, worst game ever. Rise of Nations is looking to rival it too. I heard it uses a modified Age of Empires engine.

Definately not. It has an economic system, and upgrades. Blitzkrieg is just, do whatever you want with what you have.
