I downloaded the 1.2 version twice with no luck... That was only 82MB... Ugh.
I may just end up waiting for MOH:AA.

IS DOD AN ONLINE GAME *ONLY* OR CAN YOU PLAY IT ON YOUR OWN - OFFLINE - LIKE HALF-LIFE?

Thanks again -

YOU NEED HALF-LIFE TO RUN DoD !

If you dont have HL DONT DL DoD.

It wont work without HL.

It's multiplayer only right now, but they're going to do a SP version in the future, unless they've changed their plans.

I can't start the DOD game... Is this an online server run game only?
I've got Half Life installed on my PC. Last night I downloaded the 100+ MByte DOD V1.3 full install file, installed it this morning and when I try to run the game with "Quickstart" I get the following error message:

Half Life

!Could not load library C:SIERRAHALF-LIFE/DOD/cl_dllsclient.dll

I've been getting this message since the 1.1 version of DOD... I've got Windows ME on my system; I hope this doesn't have anything to do with my problem...

Thanks for any input.

No, in fact I downloaded the 800+K patch and it wouldn't overwrite the HLDS.EXE file - told me the version I had was incorrect or something... UGH!

You probably downloaded the wrong patch, because the patch is way more then 800kb. If you never patched the game then you have to find the patch that updates your out-of-the-box version (find out what version it is), to the newest one.
