Okay, the gayest thing just happened to me. I usually play in 800x600x32, and I decided to try the highest resolution that my system could handle, which is 1280x1024x32. Anyway, so I change the resolution, and I noticed a huge difference in frame rates. It was faster! I was thinking, WTF man, this isn't supposed to happen. Anyway, so I switched to 640x480 to see what happened, and still, 1280x1024 was faster. Weird huh? It's cool for me. Anyway, here are my system specs:
yeah what graphics card do you have. If its a good one then I'd expect that to happen, some cards ( GF3 cards ) are bottlenecked at 800x600, they were designed for higher res graphics
hey acgreen, i noticed ur in the northern california area, wanna go to a lan on friday, were gonna be doin allied assault full. heh just thought id ask
Yes, I have a GF3 and I get the same results. I play at 1280x1024 at 32bit. Taking the resolution down to 1024x768 does not do anything to the frames or makes the frames go down.
Yeah there is definetly a bottleneck and its the card but the CPU.
I have a 1ghz cpu.
I guess thats good news for the card that it can handle alot more.
