Got a traffic ticket today...ever get out of one? -

well there i was driving this morning on my last day of college for the semester, when i get pulled over on my way to the interstate. the cop asked me for my liscense and registration and then proceeded to tell me i "rolled" through a stop sign. he then wrote up my citation and told me to watch those "stop signs" in the future. i thought to myself, what kind of prick cop watches for a random stop sign violations at six forty five in the morning. i didnt argue, because i knew i did it. just another friggin hassle to deal with, he also took my liscense because i didnt have a "bond card". thats another gay thing about this process, a little slip of paper allows you to keep your license...i guess it wouldnt be gay if i had one though cry:
the point of this thread. have you ever gotten out of a ticket? i am 23 years old and since i got my license 6 years ago i have recieved ...i think this is my eleventh moving violation oOo: I have gotten out of a grand total of 0 tickets. hake: post your ticket experiences, and if you ever got out of one, and how you did it angel:

only ticket i ever got was when a camera caught me run a redlight, they sent a picture of my tag from the cam
so i have to pay a $50.00 fee, so I whip out the five, lie it on the table, snap a pic, print it, and send it back
never heard from them again.

I don't know if you're in the US, but traffic court in the US (with the exception of Virginia and Maryland which dispute traffic violations in a proper courtroom) is an absolute joke. You walk into a small room with a judge elevated a foot above the ground. You plead guilty to the charges and the judge almost always drops the points and lowers or drops the fine. Just show up in court, you'll get out of it.
fifty* not five lol[/quote:3c8f2] I heard about some one doing that. Know what the cops did? They took a picture of handcuffs wrote "pay up now" on the ticket. A week later they had the guys money. Dont try to act cool like that. after 1 year of having my liscense I have never been pulled over. Although I have run several stop signs, red lights(on accident), and several other dumb laws.
for example?[/quote:a5195] stoppign when a pedestrian is in a cross walk (new hampshire law), yellow line violations, excessive speeding 70mph in a 35. is hitting gigantic puddles an offense? there are some spots on my way to work that I cant resist after heavy rain. The puddles are like 6-8 inches deep. I floor it. Water goes liek 12 feet in the air. Awsome and scary ass hell when your blind and you realise your doing 40 on a very tight road.

i have gone to i think 4 court hearings over the years...for the major offenses like a ridiculous class A misdermeanor charge i got for "drag racing" someone...they thought me and this guy i never met in my life were drag racing and they threw us both in the holding cell for a couple of hours...i had just learned how to drive stick shift, so i popped the clutch to fast accidently...which made my tires squeal a little bit...the other guy sped right when the light turned green, they pulled us both over and we were charged with wreckless driving / drag racing. i had a lawyer come to my hearing and it was all dropped, but i still got a ticket oOo:
the court thing does not erase the fine....it just gets it taken off your record. since my ticket today is only a stop sign, it isnt worth going to court cuz i was guilty. plus once i do the traffic school it will be off my record anyway.
p.s. yes i live in the u.s.a. *see avatar location* biggrin:

my mom got pulled over here once, i guess she did the same thign, rolled trough three stop signs, still looked both ways just dint come to a compleat stop. probly because it was a small town & it was 11 at night & the streets were dead. anyhoo he just said that he was checking to see if we were some drunk kid or something cause we just pulled out of the beer store. he let us off but said if he dint we woulda had a $350 ticket.
