Default Modern mods-not for me... - 06-11-2003, 04:34 PM

Medal of Honor is not the same with realistic weapons and such...Having modern weapons makes MOH lose its good taste and gameplay. So I'm getting rid of all my modern weapons, city nights, etc.. I going back to realism:WW2. It just isn't the same. Well, what are your opinions on this?

I never tried them. And I never will. I know for sure that I will not like it. I've tried various mods (EyeCandy and such), just to see if I would like it. Within minutes it's off my harddrive. I like the game as it is.

Only things I use is a HUD-mod (gets rid of bullets and stuff), and a modest bloodmod.

I think it is a good change, because playing the same kinda maps over and over would get terribly boring. There are so many Destroyed Village maps you can play before you reach insanity. So making new stuff spices up MOHAA. I know it's a WWII game, but so. Do whatever the heck you want to do with it, it's your opinion. Some people may like modern stuff (me) and some other people may like it WWII ish. That's why we (Modern Assault) are creating this mod, for the people who like modern day stuff, for the people who want to try something new, and for our pure enjoyment. Modern stuff doesn't ruin MOHAA, I think it adds some variety to it.

thank you toenail
i tried a shitload of mods, citynights, and some exclusive modern warfare shit from --zack, and its good, but it doesnt immerse me like true MoH did. There is a lot of missing action in the game, market-garden is the one that sticks out in my mind, not to mention Afrika- El Alamein, Gazala, Battleaxe, and all that. I know itll be covered in MoH:Breakthrough and MoH:PA, but this community needs to return to its roots man...

Okay, but what if you lack a very important key to doing this, money? Then what, no modern combat games for you. That's one reason why I believe that the modern mods are good. If you don't like all the modern stuff, then don't download it, and just ignore forum threads about it. Some of us are not rich, and cannot afford to spend money on more computer games, that is why we need mods like Modern Warfare.

I'm not really big on the modern warfare idea, but that doesn't mean it's not a great one. I'd prefer the WWII setting just for the sole fact that the time period and the events of the war interest me.

I'm all for anything that breathes new life into MoH and this community. Keep the mods coming, guys. You're doing a great job.

I just think it is cool that you have a choice and that different options exist. I always go back to the wwii version, but thats the great thing about choices.

it is true that we have the option to chose, but what i've seen recently are a lot of mp5 and M16 mods, which are awesome, city nights did a killer job, and im sure modern assault will too. What i haven't seen recently are very many new player skins or weapon models. This community has been begging for an M1 Carbine, and a Bren Gun. I dl'ed the wrapped KAR and the mp41 and they were amazing, its a shame deleto is no longer here to keep amazing us. What im saying is that i'll try any mod that looks decent, im just asking for more WWII mods...
