first off, let me state that i have attepted to make CS maps with no luck....to me they are a pain, so i am a complete map boon , but how hard would it be to take a already made map, and just make it dark...for example lower the light on Das Boot , and how would i do this? just open the pk3 in a map-creator and just change the light level?

ROFL
i wish it was that easy.
the light setting are set in the worldspawn in moh radient. thus you cannot chage it after its been compiled. you can however, turn a .bsp into a .map which is used in mohradient and change the worldspawn settings. but thats only after you delete 5000+ brushes generated by the process. lets just say its ugly.
pk3s are not compatable with mohradient.
now that i think of it, MPowell1944 posted screenshots of His Stalingrad for eyecandy. he made the origonal day time stalingrad into night so i sugest you ask him.
