Default My registry is fooked : HELP! - 09-05-2003, 06:56 PM

Can anyone tell me that command to re-install the default registry?? It seems my registry is screwed and everything works fine but I can't view my two CD-ROMs anymore in exlorer and it says my registry might be corrupted...

Can anyone help me here?? thanks

By the way, is there a way to back up your registry to a floppy disk?? thanks

Here's what I found so far:

http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/wind ... 78,00.html

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treevi ... p_mduo.asp

To back it up to disk, when you have a safe, clean registry, just choose Export Registry from the Rededit file menu.

i think each time you change it the old versions are stored in user.bak and system.bak ... if you move the .dat s of the same name to a folder on your desktop , just in case the old ones are also fooked, you can rename the baks to the dats and restore. this is how i use to do it with windows me ... might be the same

System Restore is excellent, but ASR (Automatic System Recovery) is known to break 3rd party applications. Same with the Recovery Console.

Yeah, they make good cards. Gainward, Gullimot, Visiontek, and Leadtek are all good 3rd party card makers.
