What exactly is DoD? Is it an entire game or just a mod? I heard it was a mod for half life, but which halflife?? There are soooo many... Oh yeah and if indeed it is a mod for half life, will it work with the demo?

DOD is a total modification for Halflife Retail.

there is :

halflife original retail
halflife-counterstrike i think
halflife blueshift
halflife opposing force
and there are a few other gold editions etc of halflife

basically no it needs the full version game, not a demo to run.

and im not sure but you might get halflife if u buy opposing force etc etc, but i think those are just expansion packs

basically, Half Life: Game of the Year edition, regular Half Life, platinum pack, they are all basically the full thing of half life, with a little extra stuff, but those 3 things have the original half life. you could play DoD with any of those versions, but you would need the latest patch, thats it.

If ya get Counter Strike retail, all Half life mods will work with it, thing is if ya wanna play CS, your gonna have to download heaps to get it back up to par with the internet download version (free), So I dunno if thats what you want. But IMO DoD 0wNz j00 ALL !!!!!!

Half-Life GameOfTheYear has the regular half-life plus team fortress classic.

Opposing force has the regular HL + opp. forces.

Blue shift is STANDALONE. No regular half-life here.

DoD is a mod for the regular half-life.. (retail)

It owns j00..........and so do I.
