Hi i am soryr of this has been asked a million times but i could not find much with the search,
i got cinema 4d, lightwave 7.5 and 3d studio max 6
I am still newbies to them but i can still learn them.
I seen people post pictures of guns they been working on and they in 3d so i was wondering do they use the 3d models to create the 2d skin for weapons in game? or do they just make it in 3d for fun
i make them for both, but other people make them for fun too...its all about polygons when you're making models, you want a really nice looking model, you're gonna make it high poly...but then you wont be able to put it in game...make an ok model, and you can put it in game angel:
thanks i mite just make a gun for the fun of it, and at some point try and make it in to a model and skin for the game,
any tutorials links for creating guns and then puting them in to mohaa?
that would be great as all the tutorials i find are on cd or theya re very basic just telling u we used this patch and mesh, and it not a full blown tutorial that tells u step by step action by action on what to do, i just tryed to model a car in 3ds max but none of the tutorials never really gave information in to how to set it all up and set up the ref images.
Im an architecture student, so Im very skilled in most 3D cad programs. For beginners I would suggest learning on a program called sketchup http://www.sketchup.com Its an intuitive 3D drawing programs that creates surface models. From that point you can export the drawing in to a studiomax file. I've come up with some rather interesting buildings for maps this way.
