kazaa lite for mp3's - but for anything else, it's shit-house
irc is always the best
i tried e-mule out a bit, it's prolly ok for some, but for me it was crap
bit torrent is worth a try, it's been good to me

and delete or edit my post if it's breaking the rule
but i don't think it is rock:

mirc is anything fairly new heaven for everything else i try and use win mx. apparently theres a new warez p2p (thats what its called) but im not sure how good/bad it is, id try it out of i was desperate for something but im not really

There are a lot of good ones and your best bet is to have multiple applications, but kazaa in generally the easiest to use for ppl who are not as good with computers even though mirc has the most stuff it seems.

I use 3 now. i start with kazaa lite, unless its a game or movie in which case the bit torrent clause takes effect. if no succes there I turn to emule.
