I've just got back from seeing Pearl Harbor and damn it's a good film.
If it's even close to being historically accurate you Americans suffered a lot to those Japs.
I'm glad we won and I have to admit if it wasn't for the Japs the USA might not have joined we would have almost definitely lost the war.
Anyway I hope Allied Assault has action in it like Pearl Harbor and Saving Private Ryan.

I haven't seen that but my friends say it's good.
But they have no taste in films. I'm sure it is good though.

Hmmm, I didn't like Enemy At The Gates, and nor did I like Pearl Harbor. Pearl Harbor was a "chick flick", and it was made just for the purpose of money and not art like Saving Private Ryan. That's why Pearl Harbor has a love story, so it could appeal to everyone. Plus, Battle of Britain was fought in 1940, not 1941, and the planes, like the P-40's, were "floating" and doing manuevers of Xwings in Star Wars and not actually flying. Enemy At The Gates was boring also, because there was no cool action scenes and most of the movie was just talking in between the characters. But this movie had a better sex scene than Pearl Harbor did, so kudos to Enemy At The Gates. If you want to watch a good Pearl Harbor movie, rent Tora! Tora! Tora!

Cheers!

It was a chick flick I suppose and I have to admit when I was watching it I couldn't help but make comparisons to Star Wars.
But I thought the bombing scenes were the best.
That Kate Beckinsale though...mmmm

*Boring love stroy with an attempt to create another Titanic

*Worse sex scene than the one in Enemy At The Gates(there shouldn't have been any sex scenes in both of those movies). They a suppose to be war movies!! Not war romances!

*There was little about Pearl Harbor, but lots on some chick getting screwed by two guys, and a barfight

*The action scenes are unrealistic, and they make no sence.

Enemy at the Gates wasn't supposed to be fast-paced gentlemen...

It's a "cat and mouse" movie.. 2 snipers gradually getting closer and closer to their target until one makes a mistake and BOOM. The victor gets Stalingrad back..

Comparing SPR and EATG wouldn't be fair... they're totally different in that one depicts WW2 as it plainly was and the other focuses on the story of a sniper who has the hopes of millions resting in his hands (and rifle LOL) for Stalingrad..

As for Pearl Harbor, I will probably not be seeing it for 3 reasons :

1- I saw Tora ! Tora ! Tora !
2- BAD, BAD reviews
3- LOVE story..

Ha, I was going to go and see it this weekend just to figure out how they managed to fit a 30 minute or less attack into a 2hr movie.

I didn't like Pearl Harbor. It was a love story with a war backdrop. And yes there were a few mistakes, like the fact that I could spot some of the missle launchers on the war ships. And I find it amazing how four Japs could not shoot down one American plane.

I liked Enemy at the Gates, read the book also. As for the sex scenes...hmm...I don't know...hmm...

in pearl harbor, the only thing they did wrong to me was they kept doing the love scenes at the wrong time and all the battle scenes at the wrong time also and that just really got annoying
