Default Server problem... - 06-04-2004, 08:58 AM

This is the server specs -
Athlon XP 2200+
512 DDR PC2700
100mb 3Com
Windows 2003 Server

The internet specs -
Cable 3MB download / 1MB Upload.

Now the problem is while people are playing on the server it has these ping spikes. I think my connection and server are good for a home hosted set-up but I am not 100% sure...

Can anyone help me and give me some information please... I also need a little help with the anti-cheat things as I have a lot of cheaters and people who spam on the server ....

I wish to comegetsome: Them mwah:

EDIT: Watch the emoticon spam, dude.

how many ppl are you hosting? how full is the server when the spikes occur?

I would recommend more ram - atleast a gig (obviously depends on how many ppl the server hosts.

umm, 3MB Download and 1MB Upload are Cable specs. Thats why you can only host a good 10 people before getting spikes

how come? I thought 1mb Upload was good for running servers, I mean they are not as good as a T1 or T3 but still better then like a 256k connection. My friend can host a 12man server on his 256k cable connection....
