Please, please help me !!!! I have recently tried downloading the single player demo off the net (Dial up connection 2 days later !!). When I went to install it comes up with an error saying -----

" Unhandled Exception
Error Number 0x80070725
Description Incompatible Version of the RPC stub

Setup will now terminate"

I thought the download stuffed up so I went out today and bought a magazine with Single and Multiplayer demos on the cover disc, exactly the same error pops up when trying to install ??????????

What the hell is a RPC stub ???

I hope someone can help as I really want to try this game before I buy, and my son is in my ear asking when I will have the demo ready for him.

My system is -

AMD Thunderbird 1.33
384 meg Kingmax ram
KT7A Raid M/board
TNT2 Nvidia Graphics Card AGP

I can install and run RTCW no worries so I am puzzled.

Please help ASAP

Thanks
Scragz

Try rebooting if that dose not work the exe may be damaged or you may have a registry error.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I think I have rebooted about 200 times, and I am in very great danger of going bald from ripping my hair out !!

I had the same feeling about the reg screwing me over again (&$@#*&% Win98 !!)

Any ideas on where to start looking ??

I try to avoid the reg like a dose of the pox, I dont mind tinkering with anything else on the pooter and I love building my own but the reg has me stuffed !

Any suggestions on how I can maybe overcome this would be greatly appreciated (Before I go bald !!)

Thanks for the reply

Thanks for the help, I decided to format the Hard Drive (That will teach it a lesson !!). Reinstalled everything and the game works fine.

My only complaint is the Multiplayer demo really lags bad and has a huge PING. I am a poor person who can only afford 56k Dial up and it really runs like a bag of crap on the net play.

My Wolfenstein runs great compares to this. Is the final release version any better on net play, or is it still PING Hungry ??

Oh well not to worry

Thanks for the help guys
