I found a par of binoculars in Arzew - The bunker after the drive-bying in ther Jeep (drool :P). To my knowledge, they don't really do anything. I tried calling an airstrike on the truck that comes after you after you've turned on the lighthouse, but it didn't work, unfortunately.

Does anyone have a practical use for them?

Ehhh the first time u can use the binocs as calling airstrikes is.. mission Battle of Bocage, if I remember right.So nonononono you can't make a air strike without a plane Remember that and you need a radio too, if I remember right the mission doesn't even have the radio (The mission after wasting the Stukas) btw that mission is quite fun, I like to shoot the Stuka off
