hehehe, oh no the dreaded "b" word Umm yeah I think the dust effect is confirmed, It was in a few posts a while ago, and yeah it is better than blood, and also historically accurate according to what Coriolis said, I think. Jumping would be a good idea, but not jumping around like a mad man like in Counter strike, no-one can jump that much. There should be a limit and also a stamina bar, once you drag it down to zero, you have to take a break, maybe animate the character having a drink from his canteen ?? and you have to crouch for a while to bring up your stamina, or something like that.

I dunno about DoD's stamina feature in this game, although it is a great idea, I think it would be better if you could atleast jump a few times, more that just twice and then have to rest. Also maybe have a sprint feature so you can run that little bit harder and faster, but that would require to rest for longer and at closer intervals ?

Before I start I will just warn you that this post has nothing to do with BLOOD and GORE!!
Have 2015 confirmed the dust effect thing when you shoot someone?
I hope so because in my opinion it is better than blood (oh great I mentioned blood bad mistake).
Watch this space cos i'm going to create a new post soon and it's going to have what I think should be the default controls.
Do people think you should be able to jump?

The sacrificing of gameplay would be the time we spend implementing really gory stuff instead of cool gameplay stuff.
Original question: dust effects are implemented, and were shown at E3 (which is why I'm confident I can actually say they are implemented )

Yeah possibly, but having it for single player too would be awesome aswell. I wish the 2015 lads were here to answer us and get back to us about our ideas hehe ohwell, I know their working hard, cant ask for to much more. I've been playing Urban Terror Beta 2 for Quake 3 lately and it's very good, it has a stamina feature aswell, you can run as much as you want, but if you jump like 10 times in a row, all movement becomes sluggish, so you have to rest. I agree that you should be able to run to your hearts content, but if they added a sprint feature and that stamina feature aswell and worked it out so that when you do alot of physical work, ie jumping around and sprinting, you have to rest and drink from your canteen, I think it would round out very nicely, and add a greater sense of realism to the game. But I dunno how much they could do to get this feature in seeing they've only got a few months to go, but if they already have it in, or something like that in, even better

Why would they have to sacrifice game play for it??

"The sacrificing of gameplay would be the time we spend implementing really gory stuff instead of cool gameplay stuff."
"Really gory stuff" IS "cool gamplay stuff". How is this game supposed to make me feel like I'm really fighting in WWII if I can shoot some Nazi in the head and not see any blood? That right there will ruin the experence, no matter how good everything else is. I just don't understand how you can NOT consider blood and important part of a WAR game. I can understand if this was some other kind of game that had a FEW scenes of violence, but this game is ALL ABOUT war. If I'm gonna spend hours and hours in combat shooting Nazi's, I want it to be realistic. No blood and gore at all just doesn't cut it for me. This seems like it's gonna be the Disney version of Saving Private Ryan.

I think it would be better if they spend their time on things like story-line, controls, and gameplay. I'd rather see scripted scenes like the tank being bombed by P-51's (metioned in a preview) then having buckets of blood added to the game. Though I too would like to see some blood, I do not believe it is what makes a game realistic, or what makes a great game. I think it helps it along a bit, but I would prefer see things like dramatic scripted scenes, great level designs, realistic weapons, historicaly correct uniforms, great AI, nice animations, etc. to draw me into the game.
