[quote="Pfc.Green":579a8]Yes the peace protesters were so cool  , they treated returning soldiers like shit, I have no respect for those cowards. Green your age is showing. The solider's were treated like crap by more the just the peace protesters. I met quite a few Nam vets who protested the war themselves. The were treated like crap by the general populace, A Nam vet would go into the local VFW at the time of the war and be shunned by the vets. We were fighting in a war we had no business being in. When the Vet's came home, for several years our government did almost nothing to help the re-adjust to civilian life. Some of these unfornate people never did re-adjust.
Say what you like Green, You were'nt even a twinkle in your mother's eye yet. Pride in your country does not mean you have to follow it current leaders blindly.

That's good Green, you didn't like Clinton, well I didn't like a lot of things Clinton did either. Big deal.... I'm not going to bother you with my thoughts on Bush, because it would make you angry and waste my breath.
And I know you follow noone blindy, I think your eyes are wide open, that's what really scares me.
Remember being Proud Americans one of our greatest freedoms is the freedom of speech.
Have good day Green.
And don't shut those eyes there's alot of things to be seen.

Low Spark has really said all I would say in response to this, but let me just add one more thing. Those peace protestors showed more lvoe for their country than anyone else at the time. They were willing to go to the streets, screaming at the top of the voice because of the crap that was going on. They wanted to make their country a better place.
Just because someone isn't gung-ho and all for killing farmers in a far off land doesn't mean they hate their country. It means they want their nation to represent something else.

I doubt it. Judging from your comments you are still quite young (no insult, just an observation). I have the years, the interest and, most importantly, the qualifications (I really didn't want to drop that one in, but I will ).

I wonder... did you make that comment because you thought I was a Brit? Because you'd be wrong there. Besides which, no one here has claimed Britain was perfect either.

Quite.
I must say that I would support an invasion of Iraq for a few reasons:
1) We put him there
2) We should've dealt with him in 1991
3) The people of Iraq are suffering. This is the most important issue, and due to 1) and 2) it is our responsibility.
However, I don't think we have a legal cause for going. The most dominating issue at stake though is that I really don't think a better regime will be put in if he is overthrown.

Rumsfeld Warns Of Imminent Attack
US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has told the world to expect an attack with a weapon of mass destruction.
His warning came just hours before Saddam Hussein made a televised address to the Iraqi people.
The Iraqi leader has said he won't allow UN inspectors unlimited access to the country amid fears he might have access to such weapons.
While Mr Rumsfeld was certain that an attack will happen, he wasn't so sure what the US should do about it.
He said the "margin for error" was tiny and any response risked affecting hundreds of thousands of people.
But he was adamant that the issue had to be addressed.
"People have to expect there will be an event involving a weapon of mass destruction at some point in the future," Mr Rumsfeld said.
