seriously get something that you wont regret. it would be best if it meant something to you and your not getting it just because it looks cool. my 2 cents.

I'm way too old to be thinking of getting something to "be cool" I could give a fuck less who thinks i'm cool. If you paid my bills, then perhaps i'd care.
guarnere, good job but could you do another with just a small tattoo on that one arm? Perhaps one that wraps around it or some shit like that.
Arkan, I wouldn't waste my time getting a tattoo that a million other people have. You said awhile back that you have Austrian ancestry. If you trace your roots back far enough, you find that your family might have some sort of armorial insignia or coat of arms. I have two tattoos and I regret one of them simply because it was trendy at the time (Chinese dragon, upper right arm).
Good point Inny. Thats why i asked for all you artists here to design something unique. Where is Zoner when you need him??
Anywho, this guy i know has one on his leg thats killer! Never saw anything quite like it before. The artist that did it designed it himself. Thats why i like the idea of having my kids portrait on my chest done in ghost B&W. No one has a portrait of the 'lil guy!!
lettering is def sweet, but if ur gonna get somethin that wraps down from your shoulder or arm, it pretty much has to be tribal or a very well put together sleeve to look good, or u can go with the chains but thats dumb and reminds me of 80's rock bands
Sorry I was home getting snapped on dark rum for the past few days...heh heh.
Tattoos, eh? Hrm...
All I can recommend is that you get something that means a lot to you and always will. Nothing worse than getting a big "Meneudo" or "Where's the Beef?" tattoo on your forearm.
I have a tribal on my upper right arm (lateral deltoid). Not a barbed wire one though. I don't know how to describe it..lots of criss crossed lines. I don't regret it, and I didn't get it to be trendy. I got it as a kind of right of passage for me when I was younger and I didn't want a tattoo with color in it.
If you do go the tribal route Arkan, be ready to be sore. Since they are all black the ink really has to be put deep in there so they push that shit in hard. When I got mine, the guy doing it said "You must like punishment don't you?" And it did hurt there for a while, but my shoulder eventually got numb and then it wasn't so bad.
