Default 2 Errors with autokick and ME - 08-16-2002, 10:28 AM

I've searched so don't rag me if this has already been addressed.

I'm trying to run autokick on my machine with ME accessing a server running on a friends machine with XP. I get 2 errors. They are sporatic.
Error 1) sometimes AFTER a scan(not initial scan) I get a runtime 13.
Error 2) sometimes after awhile I'll get a parsescore error.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

So I take it I'm the only one that has experienced this problem?

I have very similar conditions to you: I run ME and accessing a XP Pro (dedicated) Mohaa server, though without troubles. Perhaps it has something to do with:

- your firewall (if you're running one)?
- programs running in background while using the Autokick?
- version of the Autokick (latest is v1.2 afaik)?

Have you tried to reinstall the Autokick? Anyway, I have no idea what's causing those errors :(

Thanks for replying. I am running the latest version of Autokick. I do not have any firewall running, there is nothing running in the background other than the necessary(ie. explorer) and I have reinstalled it 3 times!
I'm stumped. Does anyone know why it is getting the parsescore error??

Hello,

I was wondering if your friends Xp system has the correct ports opened in his
default firewall that comes with XP and also CrowKing emailed me about having AutoKick's default port set to 1147. You didnt change this port did you ? Not sure of any other ideas to help you other than emailing CrowKing
himself. He does answer emails and takes the time to help! Great fellow and a super program for KICK'N buttheads from the server!

I can answer the Runtime error question for you: "If you experience a “Run time error 13 – type mismatch” the first time you run Autokick, you need to change your regional settings to United States. Once you run Autokick successfully, you can change them back. "
Go to Control Panel->Regional Settings and on the General tab make sure the Location is set to United States.
As far as the Parse Error, I dont know cant remember seeing that one.

The parsing error is more of a warning than an error. If Autokick gets a garbled message back from the server, it can't correctly parse the message and lets you know about it. It should be very infrequent. If you're seeing it a lot, check to make sure the server is running the latest patch from EA, which fixed alot of the 'garbled message' errors.

Run time error 13 could be caused by any number of things. One bug I'm aware of is if you are typing something into the chat bar in Autokick's main window while the it runs a scan of the server, you can get this error. Let me know if that is what is happening to you.
