Get a gig of RAM.
Get Athlon64.
Obviously a new motherboard.
Don't get the ugly POS Raidmax case.
And DEFINITELY get rid of the terrbile Raidmax power supply. That's just asking to blow up your hardware.
Get new CPU cooler.

It looks like your buying it pre-built from some shitty site. So build your own.

Ok now to reply lol.

Thanks for the comments, the thing is I am buying a rig that I can upgrade with...so the 256 is ONLY a temp solution for about a month, then I will upgrade to at least a gig, the thing is, I am limited on money at this point in time, so getting a butt load of memory is senseless seeing as I can upgrade that part of the PC at a lower cost then buying a new CPU or vid card would. As far as the mobo, its a nice one, I allready own a Custom made (and yes built myself) that has an ABit IS7-G and its GREAT, I love abit and I will stick with them. About the case, It appeals to my taste and I enjoy it, wont change that. The PSU will prolly be changed at a later date, not too concerned with it, so long as it adequately supplies power where power is needed without the cost of high heat. Reason why I am getting a prebuilt one, akuma, is because the cost of the hardware drops HARDCORE when you do so, if I were to buy the parts and build it myself, it would cost MUCH MUCH more. This way I get discounts (major ones) on the parts I need to be discounted. I never liked AMD, so I will NEVER go with one, Nothing but Intel and Nvidia. But like I said, I am open to suggestions, akuma, if you think there is a better way to build thid (using Intel and Nvidia) lemme know, I am open to it.

Keep in mind guys this rig was compiled with the mindset that I will get a decent one to begin with, then upgrade as I get paid . Thanks for input and look forward to more. And keep in mind I am on a $1,300 budget.

P.S. How well (be honest) do you guys feel that this rig will run current and upcoming games such as Doom III, Farcry, Of course Battelfield 2, and F.E.A.R.?

P.S.S. I also forgot, guys anyone know (can explain) which is better/efficient to have for gaming processor wise... 1066 FSB or 64Bit or Higher Cache?

dude first of all, you want a gaming rig correct? you will see much better gamig performance with an AMD, intel is not as good for gaming. trust me, i own both. you will need more than 256mb of ram, even if you iwll upgrade it at a later time it will piss you off as soon as you get it because everything will load incredibley slow, your fps will drop incredibley low too. and buying individual parts is in fact considerably cheaper then having it prebuilt. whoever told you getting it from a company is cheaper is bullshit.

i know i have an alienware, and it was more expensive then a custom built one, but im not complaining. just saying that you are wrong in your statement. i hope you will reconsider some of the statements you said, as you will be better off with quite a few changes.

All those games will run like a slide show presentation of shit with only 256 mb of ram....seriously You can buy a 512 mb stick of ram for like 40-50 bucks after rebate from any retail location.

that is 100% true. probably about a year ago, i was getting some computer problems so i tried to take out the memory sticks and see if that was the problem. i ended up taking it all out except one stick of 256. i tried to play COD with that, and from getting like 100-300FPS in that game with all settings + AA and AF at maximum, it dropped down to like 20-30. if you do anything from what i said in my previous post, upgrade your ram and downgrade something else

lol, urm, I am not trying to argue with you, but it is not cheaper...and by FAR its not cheaper....I do my research and I checked the sites, to get the same EXACT parts online....at newegg.com for ex....it comes out MORE expensive, you save money on the parts buying it prebuilt because of the fact that the companies have contracts and deals in which they can sell their product at a MUCH lower cost because they know that they will sell more that way. Lets use Dell for ex (and No I am not getting one) on their XPS Gen4, you can get the Intel P4 3.7GHz 1066 FSB Extreme Edition Processor for about $300-400 less then if u were to buy it...ANYWHERE else...why is that? Its because Intel knows FULL well that in doing this, their sells will go WAY the hell up. The reason why you believe otherwise is because you GOT an Alienware, they are too proud of their systems, and you pay for the name. Not saying that the rigs are not awesome, but they over-charge you like HELL! I looked at them as well, I also looked into Falcons, and others....the fact of the matter is, you HAVE to shop around to find the best deals. I would like someone to go right ahead and show me a cheaper rig (that you buy the parts and build yourself) with the same specs as I have shown above (sure you can even add the 512, but its STILL gonna be more expensive, ALOT more). As far as the AMD, I just wont do it man, sorry, I love intel and where they are going with it....plus all the things I have read and experienced tell and show me that Intel is the Leader of the pack, AMD is good and cheap and easy to overclock. Only diff. And actually, when I get my new PC, I will be taking the 512 of PC3200 outta my current rig and place into the new one making 768MB. Only thing is, it wont be Dual Channel like it is now.

Ps. did you have an answer for any of those questions in my other PS? ^^
