Cool. They'll soon be our slaves in creating the top military technology.

eh, i dont mind them rebuilding their military. the war was 60 years ago, its time to move on. they've contributed alot to society since then, and even though they suck for not offering what i would consider a heartfelt apology for what they did during the war, thats no reason to bar them from pursuing a better future for themselves.

I still can't agree with Truman saying that the atomic bomb droppings were basically an eye for an eye for the pearl harbour attacks.
Attacking a military base is different than dropping an atomic bomb on a supposed military stronghold which murdered innocents.
Japs were bitches during the War, but their pride is too much to apologize for what happened...we bitch about how its war blah blah blah thats why shit can happen...so if we can't apologize for shit why do they have too.
Anyways...it is not like America and Canada didn't associate all japaneese-americans and japaneese-canadians to be alike all japaneese...while only associating the german war with hitler instead of the entire german race.

you have to consider the times in which it happened. If we were to drop a bomb like that today it would be much different, at that time it was an eye for an eye. We were pulling the ultimite bluff too, the Japaneese thought we had many more bombs like those used, we didnt

It was "revenge" for Pearl Harbour in the sense that it was revenge for getting America involved in a huge war. Pearl Harbour was the initial attack that brought them into the war. So in theory Japan and it's attack on Pearl Harbour was to blame for all Americans who died in a war they potentially would have avoided.

Eventually...I believe...they would be drawn in. Germany and Japan were obvioslly stronger than the allies until their involvement (and moreso Germany idiotically attacking the soviet union)
Revenge is revenge...but it is kinda like lets say some guy kills your mother...and your idea of revenge is to kill their entire family, when everybody in the family has nothing to do with it except for the original murderer.

Whatever.
That's what Truman meant, you were wrong - and that's what I was pointing out. Go dig him up and debate it with him, because his speeches don't necessarily speak for every single American word for word.

Truman is a man who makes decisions quickly, and never ever says what he did was even remotly wrong. He's just a typical stubborn guy...though sometimes that is the type of person to get the job done.
