Portsmouth is either going to be wicked fun, or a horrible expierence depending on when you go and how long you have. Theres is an awesome Diner somewhere tucked away between a shitload of buildings. ITs a small old, shitty looking place that has some amazing burgers. Again, its a heavy Irish shipbuilding city so bars are common.
