National Guard and Mexico - complicated but highly important -

happy:
El Presidente Bush sends 6 thousand National Guardsmen to help out the border patrol between the US and Mexico. Certain statistics say that the US currently has at least 11-15 million illegal immigrants in our borders

Mexicans need to stop pretending they are being picked on and shut the fuck up.

It's just another bullshit excuse of a "plan".
If you want to curb immigration start punishing business that hire them, you don't kill the hydra but cutting more of it's heads off.

"Officials suggested their mission would be to play a supporting role by providing intelligence, training, transportation, construction and other functions, while leaving the actual guarding of the 2,000-mile line separating the United States and Mexico to the Border Patrol."
So they will not be involved in enforcement. If thats the case, really what good are they then? How do they stop illegal immigration if they don't get to chase down the illegal immigrants? If the border patrol is overstreched, then how can intelligence and transportation help?

and we need to make the border more secure and punish people who hire illegals, then we should be in good shape.

We rely on Mexicans to do all the labor that nobody wants to do for cheap. Like mowing lawns or washing dishes. I don't quite understand that because those jobs are just like digging ditches, yet ditch diggers can get paid a lot more.
I don't even know what my point is... biggrin:

as usual you have no idea what you are talking about, this is about upholding the LAW. The president is screwed no matter which way he goes on this issue. If he does nothing he gets it, if he does what he has done he gets it, if he deports all of them he gets it. This is a good start to a decades long problem. I have zero problems with Mexicans coming here and working and raising families as long as they do it legally. My next door neighbors are Mexican and they are great people but they are citizens of the US, they came here legally.

Yeah, if the immigrants aren't allowed to do the jobs, won't that force an increase in the wages so that they pay more and the already impoverished Americans will be able to make a living off of them? Sounds like it'll help our unemployment rate and our poverty levels

mexicans work harder than americans in those jobs.
Wife was watching newlyweds in one of the 1st couple seasons and he was plowing up the dead front yard to put brand new sod and grass on it.
Day 1 he hired from a temp agency, 4 tattooed skinny white guys and 2 black guys. They got 1/2 of the yard plowed in 8 hours of work and constantly took breaks.
day 3 he hired 3 mexicans from a landscaper. They plowed the rest of the yard and laid ALL of the sod in the same amount of time

Immigrants here work hard as well. I remeber years ago when I went to pick cherries. All I did was slack off and these Mexicans were picking like mad. They only took one 5 minute break. I must have taken 5 ten minute breaks.
