Default New maps won't work. - 09-06-2002, 08:52 AM

Some of the new maps I have downloaded this week won't work. I placed the map pk3 file in folder mohaa/main/maps/dm. When I try from console or server I get can't find the map.
If I do a maplist from console I can get in from there but can't play it. Has anyone had this problem. The maps are dm maps.

Which maps are you talking about? Make sure they are in the Main folder, not dm. I have all of the maps and they all work fine.

I am trying to run these maps on a dedicated server. I have placed the maps in my main folder as well as in mohaa/main/maps/dm. When running the server I can't get the maps to run. I have opened the pk3 file to get the bsp file name. From the console I type rcon map dm/mapname and from server I type map dm/mapname, I can not get these maps to come up. If I go to the console and type maplist it brings up my maps I have on the computer. I then can click on dm them map name and get in. It will only play with out weapon. I have not tried to join game with any of the maps to see if it will work.

Hey Skeet, the only type of map that has to go into the main/maps/dm directory are the ones with a file extension of BSP. If the particular map has a ext of BSP like Dove2 or Berkanau, maps like that they must go into the map/dm folder. All maps that are PK# must be in the main.

All other PK3 maps must be in the MAIN directory.

From what I can gather on your maps, you have to have the maps installed on the dedicated machine & have them targeted in the SERVER.CFG file.

Now any map that you want to play that is installed on the Dedicated box, just type rcon map dm/themapnamehere from in game or map dm/mapnamehere from the dedicated console.

Another thing to see if you have the maps in the right spot, launch the game and go into multiplayer and select Death Match and see what maps you have show up, those are the map names you must use.

hope this helps some??
