Default HDTV Question ...Need help... - 09-08-2002, 11:25 AM

Okay I'm looking for a 42' for my bedroom,I found what I was looking for but,i don't know jack about HDTV,I have a couple questions about it.

1- I've always heard about, people buying a HDTV set, then talk about digital box for the TV.Do I need to buy a extra box for it ?Or are they talking about Cable Box?I'm just lost.

2- Do I need a "pro" to calibrate my HDTV,or that can be done without a pro service.Like DVD calibration disc or something ?

3-I got ATT cable service here in Boston.Do I need to call them and request a digital connection,I already have a digital cable box.

4-If you know a good HDTV forum, let me know please.

Thanks

Let me get this straight you are getting a 42inch HDTV for your bedroom? Let me guess in your living room you leave a 13inch BW TV. Must be nice. biggrin:

No, they are referring to digital cable. The DC will give you the best viewing expirence that you can get, compared to Analog Cable, and Satellite.

Most TV's come with a comfort and control guide. This is designed to give the TV the best output available for your buck. It will give you all the information you need to know on tuning the TV. If it dosen't come with one, look for something simular in the instructions booklet. If you still need help, then I would call for service.

Yes, the line needs to be switched to Digital, much like DSL lines. Call them and request a change of service.

Sorry, never really looked into HDTV, so never needed a forum. Just search google.com for "HDTV forums."
