http://techreport.com/reviews/2006q3/core2/index.x?pg=5

Pretty much any core 2 review shows results vs pentium 4's, usually the dual core variety since obviously the core 2 is dual core as well.

Ok, this is making ZERO sense to me.

I bought a Logitech USB 250 headset today and it seemed to be working fine. Teamspeak was clear and the mic was working just great.

I boot up BF2 and join a server. I got nothing but connection problems. I couldn't walk 2 steps without seeing "There was a problem with your connection".

So, for troubleshooting's sake, I disconnected and quit BF2, unplugged my headset, and booted BF2 again. I joined a server and magically my connection problems disappeared.

Now, how in God's creation can a HEADSET cause lag in BF2?? Can someone please help me out. I just slapped another 1GB of RAM into the machine too and BF2 seems to like that a lot.

This sucks beyond belief. mad:

Could be something to do with your upstream suppose, maybe the audio quality is whoring up all the bandwidth making bf2 lag? Ive not used teamspeak in ages but i think theres options to lower your audio quality. Might also want to try changing the audio settings for the game in bf2 itself.

Here is a question for ya. I have a Pentium D 805 dual core but get the feeling its not running as a dual core. The reason for this is if I run CPU-Z
It only shows as one core. Everything I have seen on this link shows it as being selectable between both cores.

http://www.digital-daily.com/cpu/pentiu ... ndex02.htm

How can I check if i am running using both cores properly??

Might be an older motherboard bios revision making only 1 core show up, did you install the dual core patch? Available here

http://static.hardwareluxx.de:443/hardw ... 86-ENU.exe

After you install the patch bring up task manager and check the performance tab, dual core should show like this:

You then have the option of having processes run on one core or both by selecting the affinity:

I'm looking to buy a 300gig external hard drive. Should I buy the drive and then buy the enclosure? Is that cheaper? Or should I just buy a complete set?

I was looking at 300gig Maxtor drives. Any suggestions?

Most externals come in a plastic enclosure anyway, does it have to be external? Never used one but id say the transfer speeds from pc to drive wouldn't be that great.

i'm going to primarily use it for my laptop. I want to get all of the pictures I've taken and movies (yeah some porn) and just free up a bunch of space on it. I also want to put my future torrent files and music on it as well.

Not an american site obviously but it comes with enclosure etc.

Recently my comp got fried. Most of the stuff inside seems to still work because i can hear all the bells and whistle. However, the video card is completely shot due to the giant black spot created by a shorting i imagine. I pick up another video card because it seemed like only thing wrong. Now i still can't boot up and see the monitor. Could my PCI-E slot be jacked? How am i supposed to install drivers for this card if i can't even see my monitor?
