I have it on pretty damn strong credibility that Steve Spurrier is going to be the next head coach at Alabama. I'm getting a TON of news concerning Spurrier being in talks with the athletic department, dating all the way back to September. To give a very brief summary, here are some of the events:

-University and board of trustees jets found at Augusta National, presumably playing golf with Spurrier.

-Spurrier making direct comments to the athletic director about how he'd "like to have his statue next to Bear Bryant someday."

-Spurrier's wife seen in Tuscaloosa this past weekend looking at real estate.

-Steve and Jerri Spurrier sat with the Crimson White crew on press row at the Florida game and apparently had a nice long dinner with a few members of the Board of Trustees after the game.

-Rumors have been circling about Spurrier being ready to get out of South Carolina already because of the inability to recruit and win there. He apparently wants another national championship and knows that it is extremely possible at Alabama.

-Alabama plays Florida State next year. Spurrier has said he'd like another shot at Bowden.

Apparently everything will be kept quiet until after South Carolina plays Clemson this Saturday. It's been a done deal for quite some time, according to most.

Bowden blames ebay for sons quitting as offensive coordinator for FSU

http://ncaafootball.aolsportsblog.com/2 ... departure/

[quote:c6a37]Bowden was asked why things didn't work out with his son Jeff -- you know, other than that whole driving-the-program-into-the-ground thing; his response:

"Because you all ignited it," he said to a small room of reporters. "You listen to eBay and e-mail and all that junk, and you all kept writing about it and that fans it and makes it grow and grow, and it becomes a cancer. That's why."[/quote:c6a37]

Pat can pass better than most people think. Slaton is stoppable but the key to our offense is that when a defense focuses on stopping Slaton, Pat is given alot of room to run. That also opens up the pass which we are starting to use now. If you check the game we played against Syracuse Pat White has 247 yards rushing.

Thats just it we actually recruit smaller lineman. To run the spread offense you are going to need smaller quicker lineman. Size isnt everything.

As for the D, our lineman don't generate many sacks. It is usually a blizing safety. Our safetys can play as linebackers in the 3-3-5. This does make it hard to run on us. I think there has only been 1 100 yard rusher against our d and that was a quarterback.

Big XII Championship: Nebraska and Oklahoma.

Nice to see an old rivalry renewed.

We couldn't tackle, we couldn't block. Our defense got off to a great start and our offense just couldn't get it going. They prove the best way to beat us is to be just be quicker. There d-line was simply faster than our o-line.

[quote="Doctor Duffy":ebba5]Hey, I don't follow this stuff, tell me how CU Boulder compares to the rest of the nation (Colorado)[/quote:ebba5]

Colorado is traditionally one of the better programs in college football, but they are 2-10 under first year head coach Dan Hawkins. They did improve as the season went on but this has been their worst year in quite some time. The low point of the season was losing to Division 1-AA Montana State during the second week of the season. The high point was a win against Iowa State in the seniors' last game at Boulder.

They have a very stout defensive unit and great talent at the linebacker positions (Washington is a monster). I noticed in last night's game against Nebraska that their defensive ends were very disciplined, a sign of good coaching. Secondary looked slow and out of position a lot of times though.

Offensively they have a very strong run game which is due to a good stable of backs. They have shit for talent at wide reciever, however, and their quarterback has improved but he's really just average. Their center has been a Rimington award finalist for two straight years - the Rimington Trophy (named after Nebraska great Dave Rimington cool: ) is college football's award for the nation's best center. Their other linemen are solid but not spectacular.

Hawkins had lots of success at Boise State so I expect Colorado to improve their 2-10 record in the years to come.

No problem. Just out of curiosity, why were you interested in Colorado? Are you considering going there?
