Battle Field 1942. Fixed from crappy demo? Lower lag? Worth the cash?
Give up the scoop.

There is less lag, yes. It is entertaining, but not realistic at all. If you looking for something even close to MOH look away. If you looking for a bunch of people blowing shit up with tanks look here. SP is pretty cool. Gets boring after a while but it can be fun. The real fun is in MP. The ship wars are cool, airplanes are cool also now that I can sorta fly them and the maps are way cool. Is it worth $50? If you need a MP game I suppose its worth it. If you looking for realism and for your own team to stop bombing you, and running into you with the jeeps, you probably don't want to buy it.
Oh yeah, the intor is pretty cool too.

It's like Mechwarrior, but without the realism. ...plus you get RADAR!!! Bahahaha!!...radar!! WTF?! I can't believe I'm even saying radar. But anyway, if you feel like blowing up tanks with granades, go for it.

can't play online...if only you knew biggrin:
i'm surprised i haven't heard you complain about the weapon accuracies, SMGs and pistols are a hell of a lot more accurate than mohaa where the normal rifles seem to be more inaccurate, guess they'd rather have engineers drive tanks.

I am aware of "cracked servers" but i can't connect for some reason or other even with the cracked patch. As for weapons inaccuracies im well aware of them but normally im in a vehicle of some description so it doesn't bother me much.
And yer sigs still fuxored.

I love the game but an upset with the weapons and hit boxes. I can shoot and hit the enemy in SP ( retail version) but when playing on line. You cant hit anything moving at all.
Oh and Gerard. I may be a converted Nvida guy. Just picked up the ATI 9700 pro. doing a review on it now for aa.com. Going to compare it to my GF4 Ti4600 with MOH and possibly BF1942.

I honest to god cant stand cracked servers. I remember this for - fuck what was that game with the "GO GO GO" with the terrorists, and the cheap ass graphics - I remember that was the first go I had with cracked servers and it was a pain in the ass. If I like a game enough I'll go out and buy it. If MOH had a cd-check I'd buy the game. Same with Battle Field. I'm just gonnna go ahead and use some of the money I've saved from using an "extended trail period" on other games and shell out 50 bucks for this game. From what most folks have been talking about the game isn't realistc but the play is just fun, the vehicles adding just that extra bit of oomph. It WOULD be nice if there was a requirement for teamplay - I know this is possible. However like someone said, egineers regularly hop into tanks and planes and go at it. I do like how the scout is the only one with a snipers, and the assault guy can go nuts with his machine-gun.
I dunno, for some reason, the gameplay that BATTLEFIELD promises, and the immensity of its maps is more than enough for me to pay my 50 bucks on Thursday and join the rest of the world.
Earth and Beyond is something else I'll be giving a look at, and UT2003 I think I wont be playing past the demo.
