Beta was lack luster and rather dull. You end up using very few units because anything else gets its ass kicked. It was fun, for all of about 30 minutes before i had kinda burnt out on the chess type gameplay.

Oh i see your using medium choppers to shoot down my heavys. Well i'll just get some mediums to shoot down your mediums. Oh shit you got more, fuck. Guess i'll stop buying heavys all together and just go mediums to counter your mediums, since no one will provide AA. Oh wait theres a "support" guy doing nothing but AA, there just to slow moving and are easily avoided, fuck. Oh damn my air to air strike missed because it took 30 seconds to call in, and no one stays still that long unless there wrecking my shit.

I dunno, it had a few moments where it was ok, but not great. Typically a 20 minute game was over well before that because one side just stomped the other in 3 minutes and it was over.

Gamespot gave it a 9.5 which is unreal. I hardly see them give out that high of a score.

I played the demo last night. I have mixed feelings toward the game. It looks nice, but I guess there's a little bit of a curve to it. Pretty much all you can get for armour is the Bradley fighting vehicle which is annoying because when you're fighting the Russian tanks the main guns do nothing. You have to select each unit and separately tell them to fire a TOW at the tank. So sometimes when in a battle in close it's tough to get around to all your units to tell them exactly what to do. But I suppose that comes with knowing the game a bit better and understanding how to deploy your units properly.

beat the SP. fun stuff, but would have liked larger battles...like 50+ tanks/infantry squads to command

I haven't finished SP yet, i'm on the NY mission with the Speznas around the Statue of Liberty, but that 30 second cut scene to open this mission up was worth paying for this game. How amazing was that? Holy shit, that Audioslave song went great with it.

I like controlling just 10-15 units. Easier to move around. When playing games like Total War, there were always units standing around or getting their asses handed to them because I couldn't be everywhere at once.
