Default +exec command - 06-12-2003, 10:09 AM

Hi

In short...

Can anyone tell me if you can run a script (.cfg) outside of the mainta folder?

The background...

Basically I have created a "Spearhead Launcher" written in VB, you can store up to 50 servers, 50 player names then from dropdowns you select your player name, server etc and it then first launches Ventrilo (Team Speak sort of program for those that dont know it - best chat prog there is!!!) into a default room that you selected and then launches spearhead directly into the server.

Its a very handy tool specially written for our clan, with 2 servers running and lots of friendly matches being played (the program stores all sorts of default passwords, rcon, private etc for the clan servers, Ventrilo settings etc etc), saves time typing out all those commands and possibility of mistakenly giving out passwords! Well we love it :-)

Anyway enough of the glorification! The problem is I want to update the launcher to remove all mods etc for when we play in clanbase games, but the launcher creates a CFG file to input the passwords and to connect the server, this is run via the +exec (eg. moh_spearhead.exe +exec launcher.cfg) and from what I can tell the cfg file has to be in the mainta folder.

I want the +exec command to run the cfg file say from c:\configs... anyone know how to do it?

For those interested, once I get this all sorted I'll be desgining a "public" version of the app for all to use.

Cheers
