If Powell is such an important man to the Allies, and they have him working for the OSS, why do they risk his life by sending him storm Omaha? The mission objectives could have been accomplished by anyone and are not individually nor strategically important to the war effort. Of course Overlord as a whole was essential, but the objectives given to Powell are not.
This reinforces the notion that the Omaha level is nothing more than a gimmick, albeit a cool one.
