Rpgs may be popular but as far as online gaming goes fps > rpg, end of story.

This was never about online gaming though. So you are basically saying overall RPGs are WAY more popular (and better) and FPS are just played more online.
I'm sure Everquest ins't a popular RPG played online, i'm sure no one has ever played that game. Try again.

wtf do you mean never about online gaming, fps games are practically MADE for online gaming, they have sp yeah but the real draw is the multiplayer aspect. Everquest online, big friggin deal, one popualr online rpg game in the middle of a shitload of popular fps games. oOo:
As far as pay for play, its for morons, gg rpg online community. oOo:

We aren't talking about what these games were made for. Just because it is online doens't make it more popular. The fact that it needs multiplayer to be even considered ok is pathetic. These american developers seems to have no idea how to make single player enjoyable.

Sorry shawn but you;re wrong, multiplayer adds a LOT to the lonjevity of a game, online even more so, games life can be extended by years, halflife and counterstrike are perfect examples of this. Would you rather a fps game came with sp and no multiplayer? Answer: no you wouldn't ,if you say other wise its bs. Singleplayer cod was enjoyable, singleplayer mohaa was enjoyable, most of the good rated fps gams have had enjoyable single player modes. But as always multiplayer is the lasting appeal, because its a different experiance nearly anytime you play, then factor in mods to the equation and we can see what kind of game has the real lasting appeal and why theyre popular.[/quote:d1a97]
HL and CS suck though. To take time to do everything there is to do in an RPG would take into the hundreds of hours.
