with all of this talk of technolgoy and power...

you guys are overlooking the fact that Quake3 is highly customizable for running on even a lower end machine. This game can be highly playable on Deadly's machine...granted he wont get all the nicer prettier features others will see...but I am almost positive it would be very playable.

Another thing...with this whole framerate thing...

1) Framerates dont mean a damn thing...
2) everyones machine is different

Yeah a tv runs at 24 fps (theorhetically) but it also runs at a VERY low resolution too...less than 640x480 and the dot pitch of most television screens is very high .64 or more so refresh is done completely differently...to compare a tv's refresh to a monitors refresh is just darn plain silly....
