I 100% agree with all that, man.

I saw the DVD a couple of weeks ago and pretty much took away he same things you did.

James: The change in pre vs post rehab personality was dramatic. He was a lot more insecure with his position within the band than I ever expected.

Lars: Pretty much a twit. I think he has "short man syndrome". His father is a fucking weirdo.

Kirk: Lost. Had no creative input from the get-go. Bad hair plugs. You're bald, Kirk...face it.

Rob: Yup. Owns. As much as I liked Newsted, Rob was the obvious choice from the asshats they had in for auditions. Pepper from CoC looked like a rank amateur when trying to play Battery. Trujillo played it like he wrote the fucking thing.

Bob Rock: Needs to go back to producing pop rock acts. He's not metal enough. Must be the Vancouver weed. Never cared much for him.

I also like St. Anger. I could have done without the "empty garbage can" snare sound, but the songs are solid and it's definitely the heaviest record they produced since "...And Justice For All".
