Just to clarify, I have no problems with new theories or anything like that. Most of you know that I’ve very liberal. This movie has religious implications, so people of faith probably won't like this as much as people who are open to new ideas.

I'm not religious, and I’m open to new ideas, but I put myself out there as a person of Science, and when I see ideas being portrayed as science fact without any evidence, it immediately sets off alarm bells. This film presents numerous claims as fact, while giving no evidence to back it up. This film is called a documentary; however it should be labeled as science fiction.

I’ll give you one example:

One of the contributors to the film claims that when Columbus sailed to the Caribbean, the natives could not see his ships because they had never seen ships before. The native leader could see the wake of the ship, but not the ship. For days the leader stared out into the ocean until he could finally see the giant ships. He then told all his people, and the natives believed in him so much that they all saw the ships.

The example given totally ignores the fact that the natives also had ships. Not big ones, but they had canoes and were able to travel on water, so why would it be hard to believe or hard to see ships carrying Columbus' people?

If you lived in a remote corner of the planet, and then a plane flew overhead, would you never see the plane because you've never seen one before?

This film shows complete and utter disregard for the scientific method, and science in general.
