The crusades were a fairly long time ago..

The reason things have been bad with the middle east has alot to do with the way western societies and colonial empires have been infiltrating their politics for the last couple of hundred years. This recent series of conflicts coupled with the massive media which caters for billions, globally, is beginning to look like the straw that broke the camels back for middle eastern-western relations.
