I know this isn't "game" related but i felt it was important enough to post here.
A buddy of mine has an eBay account with an excellent feedback of 613 with no negatives. I was browsing some things he had for sale and noticed he had two nice Bose home theater setups for sale and they were going for big $$$. After looking at his ad, i noticed a few things were changed from the past. The ad stated he doesn't accept credit cards or paypal due to the high amount of internet fraud and if the bidder had any questions, they could e-mail him. (a different e-mail addy was given). After thinking it over, i decided to contact him and ask him about the equipment and his ad. Well, it wasn't him selling off the stuff, it was someone else who hacked his account. He was able to access the account and cancel the bidding. He contacted eBay about the problem and we don't know as of yet the outcome. He said if it weren't for me contacting him, he wouldn't have known about it and some punk assed hacker would've made off with some nice cash using my buddy's eBay account!!
The lesson is this....keep a watch on your own accounts (look to see if your selling anything) and look carefully at the stuff being offered. Look to see if the seller doesn't accept certain payments and if you e-mail them from a clickable link, look closely at the address when you click on the link to see if it's the same address advertised. You can right click the link and chose "properties" to get the true URL.
