Hey, I'm back...

Ok the reason that compared to the other beaches, Omaha was a 'cake walk' was because of botched naval bombardment. Before the actual landings there was a period of massive naval bombardment, on ALL four other beaches more than 75% of deffensive fortifications were knocked out. But on Omaha the bombardment overshot the targets, most rounds hitting the flooded tidal flats behind the main fortifications, causing minimal casualties.
