1st the Internet was around in 1969, called ARPnet. You are correct if your talking about the World wide web. This part of the web was not around in 1969.
When the old board was switched over to the new board, BS has to port the Data base. When he did everyone who had registered b4 the port was given a join date of 1969. All of the join data was lost for these members so BS just kept them at the 1969.
AA.com and AA.net were totally different boards. I believe there was a little rivalry going on between the two.
