Default localization.txt editing on SpearHead - 12-22-2002, 08:16 PM

anyone crack the localization.txt problem with spearhead yet? i had edited my localization.txt file for allied assault to include a message at game connection (to replace "Press Fire to Join the Battle") and also used bazooka joe's swear filter.

i tried using the same technique for spearhead (creating a global directory, copying the localization.txt file into that directory and making the needed changes), but is doesn't work.

i'm not sure where to go from here. has anyone had any luck doing this yet? i want to change the "Press Fire to Join the Battle" message upon connection and also install a swear filter, but i haven't been able to figure it out.

i've already done some testing and of course got nothing out of it . . . i've created a standalone localization.txt file and put it in its own pk3 file with no luck. i've updated the localization.txt file in pak2.pk3 with no luck, i've copied the localization.txt file into /mainta/global/ and that didn't work. i've edited localize.cfg, put that in a pk3 file still no luck and also edited the standalone localize.cfg with no luck.

if anyone has any ideas about where to go from here or if you've already figured this one out, please let me know!!!!! i've been trying to get this to work for about two weeks now with no luck. i need your help!

thanks as always!
