Actually, I've found that the bots die pretty easily, depending on where you hit them. And the allies at least, tend to listen somewhat to your commands - I tell em to move in, they march into the MG42's so I can snipe the guys shooting em. The level is good for a couple of things - a) an exercise in sniping (as if you stick out too far a 42 will take your head off) and B) how to clear a room, as there are 42's all over the place. Yes the bots aren't the brightest, but its a great start.
