"You are getting this error because Gamespy is currently in the process of merging thier servers at this time. Please bear with them, and try again in a few days, when they are finished. We have no connection to this process, and there is nothing wrong with your CD key." Thanx to Leonov for posting this info in the Game Arena forums.
