Alright, this may or may not work, so bear with me, and tell me what your situation is. I know this *is* my 1st post, but I have been lurking these boards for quite awhile now, so I'm not some dumb n00b.

Alright....There a few reasons right off the bat why you may be having probs...

-You have 256mb or less of RAM (be it DDR or SD), therefore, because the texture compression is not included, your RAM is using it's total physical memory as an immediate texture catch.

-Your video card sucks/drivers are out of date ---> go to nvidia.com

Most peoples problem lies in the memory. If you do have 256 or 512+, do this now...

LAG FIX
-------

WinXP - Go to Start > Control Panel > System > Advanced tab > Performance Settings > Virtual Memory "change" >

Initial Size: 2x whatever amount of RAM you have
Max. Size: Same as above

Win2k - Much easier, right click on My Computer > Properties, and go from there.
Same with Win9x. Please tell me if this helped/didn't work/i'm an idiot, and so on.

Worked for me. No lag even at the smoke, not one bit
