Also, tell him you don't appreciate him yelling at anyone in your familly.

If they both ignore you, then tell the police yourself.

I'm almost certain that the police wouldn't look kindly on you just kicking the shit out of him unless he was an intruder, or it was in self defence.

So, unless you can provoke him to attack you (and prove it) by beating him up you'd more than likely end up the one in the shit.
