Anybody read 1984? Why not just get rid of all words that aren't necessary. Just have "Good" and "Oppisite Good" to describe good and bad. What use are all other words of describing something?

The ability to choose which word your using is important. Perhaps the word would have been different if Older people versus younger people were going to read it.

If i'm telling someone that someone died, i'm going to use a gentle word, not something harsh. In this case, a harsh word isn't needed. The point is made, and everyone understands it.
I'm sorry. I wasn't under the impression that using the correct terms was
rude. Softening down an action through euphemistic terms doesn't quite
insure precise comprehension and interpretation from the reader and this
is exactly what the government has been engaging in for a while.

Euphemistic Language by George Carlin should get you started. There are,
of course, exceptions to the rule - one of which happens to be what you've
mentioned. English is perverted now: a shadow of its former self. This isn't
meant to be taken as a rebuttal: I just want to make some of my opinions
clearer so as to avoid any confusion...

This is definitely opposite good. happy:
