[Nyck]

So I noticed in the last couple days my ping has been in the 120-140s almost twice what it should be.

So I get to work trying to find a solution...I check to see if stuff is running in the background on my computer. AH-HA! Espnmotion, a program I downloaded to watch a sports highlight, is running continuously in the background downloading media from espn :shock: so I SMITE it with the might add/remove programs. While im at it I get rid of some other little dumb stuff running in the background with msconfig and some crappy services like microsoft debug rolleyes: , help and support etc....so YAY my cpu is cleaned up lets test it out...ping still in the 100's not as bed though.

So I wake up today and decided to check out SweetJ's Computer. I check and she has 5-6 dumb processes running like quicktime updates, real player update, and a couple things I have never seen before. I do a google search and they are useless so SMITE YOU useless resource hogs.

Im feeling good and getting somewhere so I run a spybot scan..only 6 files which are quickly terminated with no remorse and mercy HAHAHAH you have no chance against my 1337 SPYWARE CRUSHING POWERS.

So the final step I go to run regsupreme 1.1 to eliminate the useless registry entries and come out VICTORIOUS :rock:

I click it and POP...."Your trial period has ended..please vist...etc and pay 17 bucks to continue using program" I do a quick scan of the room...Nope dont have 17 bucks laying around of a money tree outside so I jump on the google trains and do a search for a ...AHEM COUGH...

so I find a "site" and click the link to download.....but wait what the H..E..double hockey sticks?..the computer has frozen???

a quick crtl+alt+del kills the explorer and im back up...but wait what the????

Ugh so I check add/remove programs see lycos slidesearch and a couple other progs which have infested her computer

So I run another Spybot scan and CONGRATS YOU NOW HAVE 47 SPYWARE ITEMS cuss: cuss: cuss: cuss:

So a couple spybot runs, a windows update scan, disk clean up, and registry scan with the "fix" for regsupreme that I forgot I had and just put in our shared network docs...and shes good as new...ready to rock and awaiting tonight to see if it makes in difference!

Moral of this story.....you draw your own conclusions..
