DUBAI (Reuters) - Iraq's information minister said on Monday U.N. weapons inspectors had completed their work in the country before they left four years ago and there was no need for them to return.
Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf told Arabic al-Jazeera satellite television: "The work of inspection teams in Iraq had been completed."
He added that an Iraqi invitation for an "equitable dialogue" with the United Nations ( news - web sites) had not included an offer for the return of inspectors.
Sahaf said Baghdad could "easily" refute U.S. claims that it was developing weapons of mass destruction (:roll
